First, a little background. Our home is pretty new so I had it well wired for Internet/Cable. We were able to connect to both Spectrum Cable and Frontier Fiber Internet services. I started with Spectrum with a cable land line phone and all was great. Then I added Fiber/internet (WOW) and it was better.
No, I’m not crazy, the Spectrum Cable services (TV & Internet) comes with our HOA fees (not really that bad). I added the fiber for speed and security as well as to have a dual access to the net. You see, my wife and I are writers/counselors/advisors in the area of Whole Food Nutrition and I counsel folks on cancer (mostly prostate cancer as I was diagnosed back in 2010 and still alive after NO traditional ‘treatment -

). So, Internet Access is very important to us as well as I support over 30 web sites on Nutrition, Lifestyle and Longevity.
When I added Frontier Fiber, they had a deal so I switched my ‘land line’ phone to them. I also added gig internet; Spectrum was at 250 MBS at the time! Since then, Spectrum updated our service to full Gig support; matching Frontier Speed. I checked and Spectrum land line was now about $12/mth, not $25. I switched Back to Spectrum to save some money. Many everything is going up!
All this could be handled remotely at the Central Office or whatever as my home is fully wired. I have a hardware security interface for internet and I can switch between Spectrum and Frontier in about 2.5 seconds by swapping a single cable! Nice huh?!? I’m proud of it!
Anyway, when I switched my phone (land line) from Frontier back to Spectrum (should have been easy right?) the IDIOTS at Frontier CUT MY INTERNET FIBER Service!!! Yea, you heard write and CANNOT just turn it back on! Remember I am keeping the same land line phone number all this time!
I have spent some 3.5 HOURS online with idiot AI and on the phone with poor kids that don’t know what they are doing trying to just get my service turned back on. But Nooooooo, the fools at Frontier rigged their system so that the INTERNET Services are Linked/Tied to the land line service!!!!!!!!! So, when I returned my land line service back to Spectrum, to save some $$$ the Frontier System (designed by a pet rock no doubt), turned off my Internet Fiber Access!!!!!!!!!!!
Now after all this time talking to ‘people’ everywhere, the Frontier System MUST Set up a New Account, assign NEW Equipment (the current stuff is about 1.5 years old and working fine! (Not only working fine but I also have the Spectrum Internet Service running through it! Hell, the equipment can’t tell the difference <grin>.) AND now they are sending out a ‘technician’ to do an ‘install’ where NONE IS NEEDED!
If you have stock in Frontier Communications, DUMP IT. The support systems and software/hardware interface were designed by someone’s Pet Rock. This ALL should have been handled in about 5 minutes!!!!! But now I have to wait until Friday for some ‘tech’ to visit and they ‘turn on the service’ and install equipment that has already been installed and working dandy for over 5 years! (I did the hardware upgrade installs over that period). Now, when I do turn on Frontier Fiber it will be for MUCH Reduced service as I’ll be relying on Spectrum for the speed I need.
Most of the kids I talked to, both here, India and who knows where, were sweet and I tried to tone down my aggravation/disgust/frustration with the system they have been forced to deal with but MAN, to have to handle that level of design insufficiency/idiocy/crap must really be frustrating. I should offer to re-design that system but hell, I’m 78 and supposed to be retired!

If you think that was bad try dealing with Newton at Dollarnet in Fairy Hill in Portland, Jamaica. His internet office was a dingy room in the back of a supermarket. He oversold the service and kept moving stuff around whenever someone complained. With a similar business to yours I was going mad. But then Starlink showed up and saved the day.
Follow-up. Well it is now 5/31/2024. That 'new service' new account I was forced to do seems to have been activated. A field tech (really nice guy) came by and wondered WHY he was dispatched as everything was working when he got here. Me Too. Think I can set up a new account to set up billing and such? NOOOOOOOOO the idiot systems still have my OLD account info. I cannot set up any NEW billing because they still have my OLD Account that THEY CANCELED the service for. I have NEVER EVER seen a more incompetent, disorganized or frankly INSANE company in my life and I'm 78 and have seen a LOT. I give up. I am all set up and working dandy fine with my Spectrum stuff. Actually the Frontier network is working fine as well it is their Office Systems & Support that TOTALLY SUCK. I have no way to pay on this new account so they will have to send me some paper, but I can't even set that up. INSANE.
